The impact of viscoelastic nanofluids on the oil droplet remobilization in porous media: An experimental approach

Abstract Polymer nanohybrids have displayed great potential in remobilizing oil droplets through porous media. This research aims at providing some insights into how the hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) polymer and Al 2 O 3 nanoparticles’ (NPs) hybrid can push crude toward producers. An understanding of what viscosity is when flowing rocks was acquired by rheological tests. Using Du Noüy ring method, interfacial tension (IFT) between nanohybrid studied. Contact angle experiments were employed to assess ability reversing surface wettability. The results show that yield a 12% higher shear than HPAM solution improvement dramatically depends on NPs’ concentration temperature. With more 23% drop contact value, reveal capability NPs altering measured IFT different temperatures demonstrates adsorption oil–aqueous phase interface significantly improve capillary number. article not only presents underlying mechanisms recovery during flooding but also provides new reference for formulating novel agent.
